Body Positive Boudoir Photographer
Welcome to the website of Saint Louis' best body positive boudoir photographer, Alecia Hoyt of XOXO Alice. I formed XOXO Alice in 2011 with a desire to create a boudoir studio that was 100% focused on women. We have an all female staff (photographer, makeup artist and editor) and provide a safe space for our clients. I saw that a lot of people were offering 'mini' sessions in hotel rooms, photographing 4, 6, or even 10 clients in one day. And I thought, wow, I wouldn't want to be photographed that way! The photographer doesn't know ME. They don't know what I love about myself and what I'm confident in, and they don't know what I'm nervous about for the photoshoot. It seemed like an assembly line for boudoir photos in the sterile space of a hotel room. I tried to do a few sessions like that myself and although they were a fine starting point for my boudoir photography business, I knew it wasn't where my heart was. I actually started my wedding photography business in 2005 in Hawaii, so I wasn't new to professional photography. But now I was considering opening a studio... with a lease and overhead and commitments! To say I was a bit scared is an understatement :) I took the leap and I haven't regretted it for one second!
Empowering Women Through Portraits
We have empowered hundreds of women over these last 7 years. I've transitioned my studio to focus on boudoir for 95% of what I do. It is my bread and butter, and it is what I love. Yes, I'm still a photographer... but I truly feel like there is SO MUCH MORE that happens in my studio beyond taking photographs. We help women see themselves. See how powerful and amazing and gorgeous they are. How strong and sexy and amazing and worthy they are. Boudoir photography is about so much more than just pretty photographs. It is transformative for many women, and that is why I do what I do. Getting the texts, emails, and thank you notes from my photo clients after their makeovers and photoshoots is such a rewarding experience. I love reading about how spending the day on themselves, getting their professional hair and makeup done, being photographed, and purchasing an album of their photographs to treasure for a lifetime has been a life changing experience for them. Seriously... how amazing is that? I get to help women transform their lives, to feel empowered and gorgeous just as they are. To show them they are just as gorgeous as the supermodels they see in magazines... some professional hair and makeup, great lighting, a fantastic photographer, beautiful clothes... and voila, they are supermodels. Benton Park Studio
I have a gorgeous studio in Benton Park, St Louis Missouri. We have a range of sets including authentic Victorian furniture, chandeliers, floral sets, a castle room, crystals, a bourbon bar set, a mid century modern room, a vintage claw foot bathtub, exposed brick walls, 130 year old wooden floors, velvet chaise lounges, ornate mirrors, sequin photography backdrops, 2 bedroom sets, and more.
Our clients have a luxury full day experience starting with champagne and cappuccinos while they get their hair and makeup done by a professional with 20 years of experience in the industry. After that relaxing time, we look over the lingerie and other outfits they brought for their photoshoot. We also take a look inside our studio wardrobe room which is filled with tulle skirts, lace robes, steel boned corsets, negligees, vintage feather wraps and robes, sequins and glitter and so many beautiful items for our clients to borrow. We offer items in sizes 00 - 28. From there we move to the photoshoot and supermodel time. We spend 2-3 hours with each client, depending on the flow of the day and which products they are interested in. We offer digital collections, albums, metal and canvas wall art, and custom flash drives. We buy lunch for our clients at one of our local delicious cafes to complete the luxurious day of not having to worry about a thing. I love taking care of our clients from the start to finish, from hair and makeup to delivering a gorgeous handmade album at the end.
We specialize in photographing women, women's portraiture, glamour photography, boudoir photography and pet photography (I love animals!). I have a gorgeous studio located in the historic neighborhood of Benton Park in St. Louis Missouri. I see many of my clients in this studio, which has a wonderful variety of sets to satisfy all tastes. We have a fun mid century modern set with authentic broyhill brasilla furniture, vintage cameras, cool art, and and overall sexy moody vibe. The MCM room has quickly become a favorite of our boudoir clients. They especially love the vintage decanters, vintage playboy magazines and window seat. The natural wood floors original to the house from 1886 add the perfect final touch.
